.NAME Domain Name Registrations

Established in 2001, the Dot NAME universal top-level domain is the single TLD supposed to be for personal sites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. Initially, solely 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you planned to reserve john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already acquired third-level domains remained active.

Through our firm, you can purchase your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to correct the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already registered domain to our firm if you receive its EPP transfer authorization key from the current registrar company and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. There are no special rules on who can buy a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the concept behind its establishment alive, the Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.
